Go.Data: Building additional dashboards in Power BI

Go.Data is a platform for outbreak response and contact tracing developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with partners in the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) and informed by years of field experience. Go.Data is a multi-language, easy-to-use tool that facilitates all elements of the outbreak response, from case investigation to identification, listing and tracing of contacts, as well as data management and analysis. In addition, Go.Data can be easily connected to other platforms for more customized dashboards or advanced analysis.

In this course, students will learn how to create additional dashboards in Power BI using the data collected in Go.Data.

Course information

Overview: Go.Data is a platform for outbreak response and contact tracing developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with partners in the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) and informed by years of field experience. Go.Data is designed to allow field-based users to register cases, contacts and their related data, including laboratory samples and hospitalizations. Go.Data also offers a range of analytics functionalities to help responders target local response efforts in real-time, which include a dashboard with key performance indicators for cases, contacts and chains of transmissions, and an interactive feature to visualise chains of transmission as networks and timelines. In addition to these analytic functionalities, Go.Data can be easily connected to other platforms for more customized dashboards or advanced analysis.

In this course, students will learn how to create additional dashboards in Power BI using the data collected in Go.Data.

Microsoft Power BI is a business intelligence platform that provides tools for aggregating, analysing, displaying, and sharing data with non-technical users. It brings together analytics, data visualisation, and best practices to assist organisations in making data-driven decisions.

The course covers essential aspects of the creation of customized dashboards in Power BI using the data collected in Go.Data, including how to connect Go.Data to Power BI, how to generate custom dashboards and reports, and how to publish and share the created dashboard with our colleagues or the public.

Course duration: Approximately 2 hours.

Certificates: A Certificate of Achievement will be available to participants who score at least 80% of the total points available in the final assessment. Participants who receive a Record of Achievement can also download an Open Badge for this course. Click here to learn how.
