Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are mainly prevalent in tropical areas, where they affect impoverished, underserved communities. They cause devastating health, social and economic consequences. WHO estimates that more than 1.7 billion people require treatment for at least one NTD every year.
The NTD channel offers learning resources to support implementation of the NTD road map for 2021-2030, Ending the neglect to attain the Sustainable Development Goals. The road map sets global targets and milestones to prevent, control, eliminate or eradicate 20 diseases and disease groups, as well as overarching and cross-cutting targets aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. In pursuit of these cross-cutting targets and the goal of achieving skin health for all, the channel also includes courses on non-NTDs given their importance for differential diagnosis and related case management.
