The GO training package was developed for use by WHO's staff, consultants and partners who are part of the emergency response, so that they can work safely as part of the teams bringing the outbreaks under control.

Overview: All personnel responding to Ebola outbreaks need to have basic knowledge and skills in order to mount an effective response, while reducing the risk of infection to themselves and others. The GO training package was developed for use by WHO's staff, consultants and partners who are part of the emergency response, so that they can work safely as part of the teams bringing the outbreaks under control. The learning package consists of five modules which include video lectures, a participant handbook, flipbook, posters showing correct handwashing and learning cards. Packaging the training in this way means it can be easily used in different formats and locations. The GO Package is designed to complement the e-PROTECT training.

Module 1: Pre-deployment training:
This module introduces you to the GO Training package and provides the overall learning framework to guide you through the course.Module 2: Introduction to Ebola:
In this module you will become familiar with the modes of Ebola transmission, prevention, incubation period, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment as well as measures to prevent the transmission of Ebola.Module 3: Global Ebola response:
This module outlines the International Response Framework, including the set up and mandate of UNMEER (United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response), the 4 pillars of EVD response and the WHO Ebola response roadmap.Module 4: Pillars of the global Ebola response:
This module describes the basic features of case management, including symptoms of the disease and main aspects of patient care. The video illustrates how case management contributes to stopping the Ebola outbreak and how the other areas of work in the EVD response contribute to case management.Module 5: Working with WHO:
This module introduces the WHO organizational framework and the international agreements for emergency health response. It contains information about WHO’s mandate, functions and priorities, how WHO is working in countries, as well as how the Organization works in health emergencies.
