Ebola and Marburg diseases screening and treatment center design

Offered by OpenWHO
Ebola and Marburg diseases screening and treatment center design

Screening areas in healthcare facilities and dedicated treatment centres are essential components for ebola and marburg outbreak preparedness, readiness and response.

In this course, we will explore the fundamental principles and structural requirements underpinning the design and functioning of screening facilities and treatment centres in ebola and marburg diseases context.

Course information

Overview: The design of screening and treatment centers is a key element in preventing disease transmission within communities and at the facility level. It can also improve the overall patient experience and contribute to increasing the quality of care during their stay. This course includes descriptions of essential spaces, functionalities, areas of risk, and flows of staff and patients.

The target audience for this course includes personnel involved in preparedness and response, such as health managers and planners, architects, engineers, logistics and water and sanitation staff, clinical and nursing staff, and experts in infection prevention and control (IPC).

Course Duration: Aproximately 2 hours.

Certificates: A Certificate of Achievement will be available to participants who score at least 80% of the total points available in the final assessment. Participants who receive a Cecord of Achievement can also download an Open Badge for this course. Click here to learn how.
