The Pandemic Fund provides grant financing for projects that seek to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPR) functions, through investments and technical support. The Pandemic Fund is expected to support and reinforce the capacity building and implementation of pandemic PPR under the International Health Regulations (IHR) (2005) and other internationally endorsed legal frameworks, consistent with a One Health approach. The first Call for Proposals was launched on 3 March 3, 2023, and is estimated to be around US$ 300 million. The Pandemic Fund will prioritize high-impact investments for low and middle-income countries in the following priority areas:
Financing is intended for projects that will help strengthen core capacities in one or more of these three priority areas, which present the promise of generating a visible impact in terms of prevention and preparedness to effectively detect and respond to disease outbreaks.
WHO Regional Office for Africa (AFRO) held a virtual consultation on 27 March to promote a more informed, collaborative and coherent approach to developing Pandemic Fund grant proposals and seek to sensitize key stakeholders on the Pandemic Fund objective, eligibility, implementing entities, priorities and the proposal submission process.
This online course was created as a result of that webinar to further support Eligible Countries, Regional Entities and Implementing Entities to develop full proposals for potential projects to be supported in this Pandemic Fund funding opportunity.
This is a site for webinar recordings and no certificates are available.
